TawnyClaw padded into the camp and headed straight for the fresh kill pile to add her prizes onto it. Overall she ha caught two mice and a magpie that strayed to close to the ground. The prey was skinny and almost none existent due to leaf-bare, but at least it was something. She then picked out the magpie for herself and padded over to her spot. She laid down gracefully and slowly began to pluck the bird's feathers out one by one.

NightPaw proudly added his mouse to the fresh kill pile and brought a mouse to one of the elders bfore taking a small mouse for himself and curling up next to TawnyPaw and enjoying his kill.

Stonestar came out of his den and saw the mentor and apprentice sharing tongues. He headed over to speak to them. "Hello there, Tawnyclaw, Nightpaw. How is the prey running? I see that you both caught some nice prey. You are doing well Nightpaw. You have an excelent mentor.", he meowed warmly to both of them.

"Thank you StoneStar" TawnyClaw mewed quietly, feeling her skin burn under her pelt. She gazed up at him and then snapped back into reality. "Nightpaw is doing GREAT! You should have seen him catch his mouse." The spotted she-cat moved forward and touched her nose to his side.

Stonestar purred with pride. "I am glad to here that this can has such fine of an apprentice this season. No one could possibly take us on.", he meowed with satisfaction.

Upon hearing SoneStar's praise NightPaw puffed his chest out and tilted his head back with pride. Today had been a great day for him, he had learned to hunt, impressed the leader and remembered his duties to the elders. Still, though, he couldn't help but think that he had forgotton something....

TawnyClaw rolled her eyes at her new apprentice while she finished her magpie. She then got up to stretch, her glossy pelt reaching out to it fullest extend. After she began to groom her spotted pelt from any possible dirt that may have been on it.

NightPaw watched as TawnyClaw cleaned herself, ready to play now that he was rested and had food in his belly. He wieghed the consequences of tackling her, and deciding that whatever punishment he recieved it would be worth it to see the look on her face. "RWRRRRR!" Hissed NightPaw as he launched himself at TawnyClaw. However he didnt get a chance to see the look on her face as he overshot her with his jump and landed in a nearby bush. He sat down sulking, "Well that worked out as expected," he thought. "Why am I so clumsy when im around her?"

TawnyClaw padded over to her apprentice and looked at him. She let out a heavy sigh and shook her head. "You are one...interesting apprentice" she mewed with a hint of laughter. Her eyes sparkled, thinking of the future and trying to tame this wild, young tom. Luckily she was a new warrior and had enough energy to keep up with him.

"Touche" That was the only thing that came to mind, but when he saw TawnyClaw peer into the bush he forgot everything. "If only I were a warrior," thought NightPaw, "Then I could impress her and not embarass myself all of the time." After a moment of silence he raised his head and noticed that TawnyClaw was still looking at him. "Did....Did I just say that outloud?" He had a sinking feeling that he had.

TawnyClaw tilted her head to the side and gave out a mrrow of laughter. "Silly little one." she then padded over to Nightpaw to help him out of the bushes and began to clean him like his mother would.

Thoroughly embarassed by his outburst NightPaw sat there and said nothing, Enjoying the closeness he felt with TawnyClaw when they shared tongues. When she was finished he puffed himself up and with as much bravery as he could muster said "Whats next for us warriors?"

"It will be many moons before you will be a warrior. There is not much we can do right now." TawnyClaw sat down and neatly wrapped her tail around her paws. "Once another apprentice comes along we can start battle training, which will be fun.

TawnyClaw thought about all the things she was taught when she was an apprentice. "Patients is something you need to learn, but if you insist we can do something. Are you sure you want to?" The spotted she-cat smiled down at the apprentice waiting for his answer.
