Mistpaw's and Goldenpaw's Ceremony

Autumnstar woke up in her den, startled and alone.
It was her first night alone and she was not used
to the empty den without the smell of her other
warriors. She rose and shook her pelt and padded
outside of the den. Even though she grieved for her
beloved leader and friend that passed away there
were responsibilities she had to take care of.

She quickly yawned and then pounced onto
the Highrock, her limbs stretching to reach it.
She then turned around and looked down at
the ground which seemed so far below her.
She began to shake, nervous to address her
Clan, but quickly regained control. She wanted
to show her Clan she had no fear and was ready
to lead them.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their
own prey join beneath highrock
together for a Clan meeting," she
yowled to her Clan. She became excited
as she waited for her Clan to join for she
has a surprise for Mistpaw.

FROM>> Apprentices' den

At Autumnstar's yowl, Hollykit dashed out of the den, tripped over her tail, and ran straight into the fresh-kill pile before realizing that she wasn't supposed to come. Gingerly, she walked back towards the nursery and positioned herself behind a hole in the brambles. /This'll probably be Goldenkit's apprentice ceremony,/ she thought. /She said that she'd be becoming one soon.../ She would miss her denmate, but then again, she could always sneak into the apprentices' den to play with her and Mistpaw.

Mistpaw came out with shaky legs. She was nervous and excited all of a sudden. She sat down and waited for her leader to continue...

"Mistpaw, come forward." Autumnstar took a deep breath and mewed . "This moonhigh, we gather together to name a new apprentice. From this day forward, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Mistpaw. I will personally train her. Maplestar was my mentor, I hope that her skill and wisdom will pass through me to you." She then jumped down from Highrock and gracfully landed on the ground. The young leader then padded over to her new apprentices to touch noses with her for the first time.

Goldenkit came out of the den to come to the ceremony so happy for Mistpaw.

Mistpaw trembeled from head to foot as she touched noses with her leader. Her mentor would be her leader. How amazing. She couldnt help but tremble from the excitement.

Autumnstar smiled at her new apprentice. You will be a great apprentice, I can tell!" she mewed to her. She then looked over to Goldenkit and announced. "Goldenkit. The next available warrior will be your mentor. For the time being you can sleep in the apprentice den with Mistpaw or with Hollykit in the nursery. It is your choice."

Hollykit looked up at Autumnstar with awe. She was so lucky to get the leader as her mentor! She padded over to Goldenkit(paw?), saying, "You can sleep in the apprentices' den. After all, I can always come to visit!" About three seconds later, unable to stand still any longer, she dashed up to Mistpaw. "You're so lucky!" she mewed, her eyes bright.

Goldenkit ran up to Mistpaw with her tail straight up and said "Congrats I am sooo happy for u."

Mistpaw purred with delight,"Thank you. I can't believe it though...that i got the leader as my mentor. That is amazing. I wonder what we will start doing first."...

[fall]

The pretty calico she-cat softly padded out of the warriors' den. Her amber eyes glittered in the sun/moonlight. Her fur tingled as she knew that her leader had to choose a deputy. She KNEW it would not be her, for she wasn't good enough. She just wondered who the lucky cat would be. Before hearing the Deputy Ceremony, she heard Mistkit called up. Did she hear right? Did Autumnstar choose to be Mistpaw's mentor? She smiled as she looked at the young apprentice. Good job, Mistpaw. She meowed kindly. Her eyes shone nothing, but her tone said everything. She turned her attention back to her leader, who had not yet lept off of High Rock. Her eyes now glowed with unseen curiosity.

Autumnstar leaped back onto the Highrock for there was more business to be taken care of. She looked around her Clan once more and waited for them to finish their congratulations. "There is 2 more announcements I must make before this meeting comes to an end," she yowled once it was quiet. "Now that Bramblestar has passed away and I have taken over it is time for me to choose a deputy." She looked at all the cats of her Clan, but she already knew who would be her deputy "I, Autumnstar, say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Fallinghope will be the new deputy of ThunderClan." The ThunderClan leader looked fondly at her new deputy, proud to have her friend be her right hand cat to help lead her Clan through any trouble times that may come.

Mistpaw purred with satisfaction at hearing the suprise gasp from Fallinghope. She never expected it yet she deserved it none the less...She leaped over to her new deputy and gave her a congradulating brush of the shoulder.

^{A small golden she-cat slunk out of the brambles. She was skinny, with amber eyes. Every rib showed on her pelt. Sunstream narrowed her eyes and lashed her tail with joy. She always had liked the kit, and it joyed her to see the kit become an apprentice.}

Mistpaw padded over to where she had seen Sunstream appear. "Hi Sunstream. Can you believe it? I am going to be mentored by the leader!", she purred.
